Antique Coverlet in Indigo Blue This is a beautiful  antique  overshot coverlet of cotton and wool. In very good shape. Woven in two pieces and sewn together . Very well made. Fringe on two sides . Only two small holes have developed over the years. Must sell $180 or BO SOLD ! Call me or comment and I can send more pics 

Hand woven ticking stripe in red rust and sand all cotton  will soon be available from off the loom as of March 5 2013. I will be making a bedspread like the one below with the same pillow shams . King Size wool blanket The blanket for The Bridge Farm in Dresden Maine is completed! Didn't it turn out wonderful? It is organic beautiful wool woven in a twill weave . Hand woven blanket has two panels sewn together to get the width for the blanket I had sewed the seam . The owners wanted an edge that was fringed. I stay stitched the edges to keep them from unraveling. When the yarn was spun it had an oil used to keep control of the spinning. I washed the wool after it was sewn and it bloomed with a lovely heather brown and grey full yarn. Not too thick or heavy. It didn't even smell "sheepy " the wool when it was wet. I will deliver the blankets to the farm and they are going to have them on display at their open house on Dec 1. Call before going to be sure. They will have their beautiful animals in the field and goodies for sale.

Pine Tree border antique coverlet Old antique bedding that has come my way  " reversible  " An antique dealer has brought me this cause he said I knew more about it than he did and could appreciate it. Yes Sir!!! It is machine made and is reversible. The other side is white with blue trees. Sadly it is in rough shape as some of the designs are gone . I don't know if the moths got to it or some one started to cut into it for the squares....hmmmm The size fits a double/full size bed. I can send more pictures if anyone is interested . Here is the finished product ! The fabric I wove earlier in this blog I thought I would show how it came out as a bedspread and used in the pillow shams. On top of the ticking pillow shams is solid red rust cotton shams I wove earlier this year . set of two left.I use mother of pearl shell buttons for the pillow opening.

Here is cotton fabric taken after the look of old ticking fabric.The warp threads are raised and the shuttle is passed through to create the web of cloth. Cotton yarn was used of yellow tan slubby yarn and red rust . All color fast it can be washed gently . Sturdy enough to be hand towels this fabric will go into pillow shams and a bedspread.It will match the previous bedspread created in a post in this blog earlier this year.
