Yarn I have been working with was CVM wool

What? What is CVM wool? Well this is lovely 2 ply yarn that I have been working with to make the Organic wool blankets for the The Bridge Farm. CVM sheep are a heritage sheep breed that is great for wool fiber and as a meat breed for small farms. I read about them at a web site of a local farm that also spins yarn for sheep farmers .This was NEWAIM yarn fiber mill. Well I am hooked. This is lovely wool that has luster and smooth not itchy at all. My job is done with weaving the blankets and now I am in search for more. The hunt is on. I almost forgot CVM stands for California Varigated Mutant , thats right . Check Out the web site NEWAIM .

Antique coverlet in Blue and White

Image
Antique Coverlet This  a special sort of blue , I guess I would call it "Marine Blue" as it is not a dark navy but a gorgeous shade. This oldie has a few rips and holes but still has a charm about it It is all wool and is woven in two layers so this side is blue with white and the reverse is white with blue. It would fit a 3/4 to double size bed If interested you can email me :leck@midcoast.com or call 207 563-5788 and I can email more pics

Festoon curtain and barn door handles

Festoon Curtain Hand woven fabric for this Festoon curtain is in the colors of Pumpkin and Tan . I just finished them and had to take a picture for you. They are actually going to VA to a customer that ordered 3 panels and 3 panels in the Red Rust and Sand that I show below in the next picture. What a treat it is to make these as you pull the cord they draw up into a soft curved swag. Release the cord and they give you privacy at night. I lined these to give the fabric that I wove, I might add on a hand loom, more life and protection from harmful sunlight.    Sm windowpane check in cranberry & sand ,sm check  same colors ,sm check Navy & Stoneware, Red Rust & Sand large windowpane check Here is something the Scottish Lion made for a neighbor.
