Festoon curtain and barn door handles

Festoon Curtain
Hand woven fabric for this Festoon curtain is in the colors of Pumpkin and Tan . I just finished them and had to take a picture for you. They are actually going to VA to a customer that ordered 3 panels and 3 panels in the Red Rust and Sand that I show below in the next picture. What a treat it is to make these as you pull the cord they draw up into a soft curved swag. Release the cord and they give you privacy at night. I lined these to give the fabric that I wove, I might add on a hand loom, more life and protection from harmful sunlight.

Here is something the Scottish Lion made for a neighbor. A pair of barn door handles that he hand forged in his shop. Aren't they just handsome? Good job there Honey, you even got them pretty matching. Sorry Hun , I know you get them matching all the   time and that they are HAND done.

This is  an old  piece of weaving equipment with an old spool of weaving yarn still in its original wrapper.These were given to me by various people who did not want to throw them away but thought since I weave and their mother or aunt use to weave then I would want to have them. Boy !are they right!I just love my old things.They tell me how hard  they worked and what pride they had in creating the items that they felt their family would enjoy. To use this bobbin winder you have to make paper bobbins to hold the yarn . It is then removed off the shaft and put into the weaving shuttle. What a lot of use this winder must gave seen. Recorded weaving projects

 How many weavers record their work ? I have notebooks of past projects with notes so to help me in my future projects . I also repeat my fabric designs and as I get older I don’t always remember the epi or ends per inch . Also the color ways or dye recipes . Here is my notebook closet . I started out  with journals but I grew as I like to keep a piece of the fabric also recorded. Drop me a line or photo of your records!
