The Truce Cloth
A simple ,hand woven 100% cotton towel brought truce toThe CivilWar on April 9 1865. The Truce was ordered by General Robert E. Lee ,carried on horseback tied to the end of a branch by James Longstreet.
The remains of this’s monumental cloth are housed today in the National Museum of American History,Smithsonian Institute ,Bering Center.
This is my exact rendition of that cloth .
